Spanish Prime minister declared his full support for Bulgaria's EU entry in January 2007.

PM Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero backed the country's candidature by sending an official letter to his Bulgarian counterpart Sergey Stanishev.

Zapatero has no doubt that Bulgaria will successfully cope with all future difficulties on its way to the EU.

"I express my admiration for Bulgaria's positive reaction to the European Commission (EC) report, which envisaged the implementation of reforms in the country", Zapatero noted.

The two PMs will host a Spanish-Bulgarian business conference by the end of 2006. Among the main issues, which the event is expected to focus on, are the investment opportunities in both countries and joint trade projects.
