Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov said the completion of negotiations on Burgas-Alexandropoulos oil pipeline project is of high significance.

The statement came after today's talks with the visiting Greek President Carolos Papoulias, who arrived in Sofia earlier today.

Parvanov said this was an important momentum in the current efforts of the two countries as to the diversification of energy ties across Europe.

"It is also important to expand the natural gas network from Bulgaria to Greece and other countries in the region," Parvanov said.

Asked whether the re-opening of 3rd and 4th reactor of Kozloduy nuke could alleviate the energy crisis in the Balkan, Papoulias said it Bulgaria's internal matter and also a matter to be dealt by Bulgaria and the European Union
