The first batch of Bulgarians, who expressed willingness to flee war-torn Lebanon, landed in the Black Sea town of Varna shortly after 10.30 am on Thursday.
The 108 voyagers, mainly women and children, have completed their bombs-propelled journey and are thankful to the Bulgarian embassy in Beirut for the swift organization. Many, however can't calm themselves and admit that now their worries go to relatives left behind.
Most of the Bulgarians who chose to flee Lebanon are married to Lebanese, and their significant others have decided to stay, be it for business or other engagements.
Many of the people who were evacuated were never close to the line of fire over the past few days, but there are some, who spent the hours before departure surrounded by the terror of falling bombs.
The group first travelled by bus from Beirut to the Syrian border, and was then taken to Varna by plane. Official information says the passage out of the country was as smooth as possible, and those who took the journey confirm it.
Another group of 107 Bulgarians will head for the Syrian town of Aleppo on Friday, at 5 a.m..
Some forty- fifty Bulgarians are scheduled to leave the raid-stricken country on board a French and Greek ferry, set for Cyprus.
More than twenty Bulgarians were reported stranded by the military raids in Southern Lebanon.
