Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry announced it has not been informed about the visit of former prime minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg to Italy to watch a performance of the Milan scala.
The visit came to the foreground after Simeon Saxe-Coburg, Bulgaria's former prime minister, ex-king and leader of the centrist Simeon II National Movement, got involved in the Savoy sleaze affair.
In one of the tapped phone conversations that took the son of Italy's last king to jail, Cerani told Emmanuel that he had given money to Saxe-Coburg's election campaing. Those were all lies, Cerani now claims, and maintains that Saxe-Coburg was a "honourable man, who would never take money from me."
Saxe-Coburg denied the allegations but admitted that he has used Cerani's services - he has travelled in his plane to Italy.
Talking in parliament on Friday, Foreign Minister Ivaylo Kalfin said that informing the ministry of such visits is not necessary as they are organized by the protocol of the council of ministers.
